MacKillop Saints 7/8 Boys Ready for Key Matchup Against Taminmin College

The MacKillop Saints 7/8 Boys rugby team will face a stern test this Friday as they take on Taminmin College on their home ground. Riding high after a dominant 36-16 victory last outing, the Saints are looking to continue their momentum but know they’re in for a tough battle against a team that thrives in a hostile home environment.

Head Coach Matt Sharp acknowledged the challenge ahead. “Taminmin are always difficult to beat at home,” Sharp said. “The crowd is loud and passionate, which adds pressure, but it’s also a great motivator for the boys to rise to the occasion.”

The team has made some key adjustments for this week’s game. Zac Waters will shift into the lock position, where his physicality and defensive skills will be critical against Taminmin’s strong forwards. Meanwhile, Andrew Mutanda will make his first start on the wing. Andrew’s speed and agility will add an exciting new dimension to the Saints’ backline attack.

Adding further intrigue to Friday’s game, Cooper Fraunefelder will make his debut off the bench. The young back has impressed in training and will be eager to make an impact in his first outing for the team. On the other end of the spectrum, this will be the final match for Ty Bill, who is moving to a prominent Queensland rugby league school. Ty’s departure marks the end of a short but productive stint with the Saints, and the team is determined to send him off with a performance to remember.
